I’m getting forum backlinks but they don’t seem to move rankings
I’ve placed a few forum backlink links in threads and signatures, but I’m not seeing improvements in search or even consistent clicks. I’m unsure if the forums are low quality, if the links are nofollow, or if I’m simply doing it wrong. What separates a forum backlink that helps from one that’s ignored?

If you’re not seeing clicks, it may be the audience mismatch rather than the link type. Pick threads where your page clearly solves the exact question being asked, and add a short summary so readers trust it. Over time, a few great posts beat dozens of weak ones.
